Alexandrovsky Garden is the first public park in the city's history, created in 1835 and designed in the English style. The garden was named in honor of the wife of Nicholas I — Empress Alexandra Feodorovna (many parks received this name at the time). Previously, the area was occupied by izbas, settlements, and churches. By order of the emperor, the buildings were demolished, and 35 hectares of the Volga slope were transformed into a park.

During the Soviet era, life here was in full swing, with the "Rakushka" summer stage in operation, but later the garden fell into decline. For the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod, the park was renovated, the "Rakushka" was restored, and now open-air concerts are once again held there. Today, Alexandrovsky Garden is one of the most picturesque and modern walking spots in the city.
