An installation by Spanish artist Josep Poblet will be installed on Zelensky Descent.
In the 19th century, Zelensky Descent was laid along the bottom of a moat that once surrounded the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The descent took its name from a gunpowder warehouse with a water mill — the Zoleyny Dvor (Gunpowder Yard) — which was located in the Pochainsky Ravine. The more accurate name for the descent is Zoleyny, derived from the word "zelye" (meaning "potion"), as locals referred to gunpowder at the time. According to another version, the name comes from the green color of the slopes surrounding it.
